Conversion to the typography
| Christmas 94, Damascus,
Syria. In a small bookshop, I read the Graphic
design + designers published by Thames
& Hudson. Opening the page 189, I discovered
that the Times New Roman was created in
1931 by Stanley Morison for the Times newspaper... |

1995,
Beirut, Lebanon.
Then began my quest for information about typefaces,
historiy of printing and writing. I visited the
libraries of Beirut especially the Bibliothèque
orientale and the library of the American University. |
First typographic experiences

From 1994 to 1996, I managed the design and the layout
of the luxurious college newspaper.
In 1997, looking for my first job, I began a MA in
political science. Subject of the thesis: the political
role of the printing in the centuries of the Reform.
The 1st January 1999, I launched my first web site
(in French) dedicated to the history of printing:
Typographie
& Civilisation.
